Waiheke Island - Auckland, New Zealand

Andy and I spent a fab long weekend simply relaxing on Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf. We stayed the Friday night with Bex (and were put up in significantly more style than we had done for them when they visited us in August - and the weather was better).

On Saturday and Sunday we stayed on the island at the Waiheke Island Beachside Lodge - a most excellent wee spot - and did sod all.

On Monday we returned to Auckland, had lunch with Bex and Pete and were, very kindly, driven out to the airport for our return flight in the late afternoon.

Moving House - Sydney, Australia

Picture this: a top floor apartment with two deep balconies; balcony 1 over looks our shared, outdoor pool; balcony 2 is high enough to look over the waterside building in front and out over Sydney harbour; inside, we have two bedrooms and two bathrooms; the kitchen is dressed in stainless steel and comes with a dishwasher and microwave (no fridge - go figure); the floors are all polished wood (except in the bedrooms); the two sides of the apartment that open onto the balconies are floor-to-ceiling glass (with floor-to-ceiling fly screens too - you can leave the doors open all day and all night); the view to our left contains Iron Cove Bridge (and a crane at the moment - doh); the view to our right has Elkington park; as well as a pool we have our own private car parking space and access to a small gym all thrown in; the only downer about the whole place (apart from the price) is the fact that the colour scheme is highly reminiscent of PwC corporate colours - ah well.

4th Anniversary - Sydney, Australia

Andy and I celebrated our fourth anniversary together this month. Four splendid years. Here's to the next forty four. ;-)
